Harris names former cable exec as new CTO

Video technology giant Harris Broadcast has named Steve Reynolds as chief technology officer and Skip Sorenson as its chief financial officer.

Both Reynolds, who will be responsible for leading product development and research and development, and Sorenson will report to new CEO Charlie Vogt.

The latest appointments complete the new management line-up created by Vogt. Reynolds was previously senior vice-president of consumer premises technology at US cable operator Comcast, and has also worked for OpenTV as senior vice-president of technology.

“Harris Broadcast is well positioned to serve an industry facing transformational change that will require innovative media and networking solutions,” said Reynolds. “Charlie [Vogt] has assembled an impressive management team that is united by a vision and product direction for accelerating our growth prospects. Our end-to-end portfolio capabilities and sales pipeline are exciting and compelling.”

Sorenson was previously executive vice-president and chief financial officer at IT solutions provider CompuCom.
“After an intense 100 days since joining Harris Broadcast, we have built a management team that is laser focused on the challenges and opportunities facing our industry, customers and partners,” said Vogt. “Steve and Skip join an outstanding team that shares a clear vision to lead the market in technology innovation and fuel a customer-first culture. Steve’s software and IP pedigree, most recently at Comcast, bring a cutting-edge customer perspective that is ideal for guiding our product direction, while Skip’s financial acumen spanning public and private companies aligns with our long-term goals and objectives.”
