Tele Columbus expands HD offering

German cable operator Tele Columbus is to expand its HD offering from seven to 17 channels from November 5.

The cable operator says it will offer the largest number of commercial HD services of any German cable operator as well as the full range of public HD channels.

Tele Columbus is changing its programme allocation in Berlin from today in preparation for the addition of new channels from broadcasters HR, BR, WDR and NDR.

New HD additions to come include the HD versions of Sport 1, RTL II, Super RTL, RTL Nitro, n-tv, DMAX , Viva , Tele 5 , Deluxe Music , Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, all available in the HD and HD Plus packages.

Tele Columbus is also boosting its premium offering with the addition of four new HD services, taking the total to 10.

Tele Columbus is expanding its unencrypted offering of commercial and public channels, taking the total from 34 to 40. The offering includes all 14 HD services from public broadcasters ARD and ZDF as well as services from ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL.
