Russia sets 2018 final deadline for switchover

The Russian government has set a revised final deadline for the switch-off of analogue terrestrial TV services.

According to local reports, the government has now named July 1 2018 as the final deadline for analogue shut-down.

The exact schedule for switchover will be determined on a region-by-region basis.

The government, which had earlier said it was looking to the end of 2016 for switchover to be completed, has said that the process of shutting off analogue broadcasts may be completed if under 5% of households are unable to receive DTT signals.
