Deutsche Telekom reported an 11.7% year-on-year increase in European TV customers in the second quarter of 2013.
The firm recorded a total of 3.086 million IPTV, satellite and cable customers in Europe in the quarter, up from 2.763 million in the same quarter last year and an increase of 2.6% from 3.007 million last quarter.
Germany remained Deutsche Telekom’s largest TV market with 2.078 IPTV and satellite customers, up 2.1% year-on-year.
In terms of revenue, this segment also recorded a positive trend with revenue growth of 18% year-on-year – compared to a total revenue decline in the European operating segment of 4.5% year-on-year to €3.4 billion.
In total, revenue increased by 5.4% year-on-year in the second quarter to €5.2 billion. Net profit was up 10% to €530 million.
