Video delivery firm Qwilt raises US$16m

US-based online video delivery and transparent caching solutions firm, Qwilt, has raised US$16 million (€12 million) in Series C funding as it looks to expand internationally.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with contributions from current investors, Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Marker, taking Qwilt’s total funding to date to US$40 million.

The firm said it will use the cash to expand its international sales and engineering teams to meet global network operator demand for its flagship product, the Qwilt QB-Series Video Fabric Controller.

Qwilt’s video delivery technology is designed to let network operators increase network capacity in order to address the impact of OTT video and improve quality of experience for consumers.
