Dutch online video-on-demand service Pathé Thuis has chosen Widevine implementation partner Xstream to provide Widevine DRM for its iOS and Android content delivery.
Pathé Thuis offers premium HD movies from the Pathé film catalogue on multiple devices in The Netherlands.
“As an over-the-top movie service, DRM solutions are critical to our capability to securely deliver premium content to the endpoints where our viewers want us to be,” said Thomas van de Weerd, managing director at Pathé Thuis. “By partnering with Xstream, we are able to expand the success of our online film service to iOS and Android devices with studio approved DRM encryption. Now we’re able to deploy first-class video experiences across new devices to consumers at a cost that makes sense for our organization and our market.”
