Italy moves towards DTT auction

Italy’s communications authority AGCOM has approved final rules for the auction of its digital terrestrial television frequencies. 

Amendments, brought in following a public consultation since the scheme was approved in November, include the stipulation that only new entrants or small operators can compete for all three DTT lots.

The auction is for the frequencies that comprise the three national DTT networks, with rights due to last for 20 years.
