Tesco’s Clubcard TV signs BBCWW deal

Supermarket giant Tesco has signed a deal with BBC Worldwide to add cookery, comedy and drama shows to its recently launched Clubcard TV service.

The deal covers catalogue shows such as  Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression and Carrie’s War.

The ad-supported Clubcard TV launched last month, offering free movies and TV shows to Tesco customers, with adverts targeted at users based on their shopping habits.

The service is powered by Tesco’s Blinkbox on-demand rental service, which the supermarket chain acquired in 2011, and it also has deals in place with content providers including Aardman, Endemol and Warner Bros.
