Travel Channel launches on Freesat in UK

Scripps Networks Interactive’s Travel Channel has launched on UK free-to-air digital satellite television platform Freesat.

The channel, which is already available to some 10.3 million people on the Sky platform, will join the Freesat EPG on channel 405.

The roll out comes a week after Scripps Networks Interactive revamped its international Travel Channel with a new logo, identity and changes to its scheduling and programming in a bid to create a “cohesive global brand.”

In February Freesat said that it had sold its 3 millionth product since launching in 2008, taking gross retail sales to well over £1 billion (€1.18 billion). It also said it had added 55,000 new households in the third quarter of 2012.
