Viacom has elected World Economic Forum advisor Cristiana Falcone Sorrell and TV journalist Deborah Norville to its board of directors.
Falcone Sorrell is senior adviser to the chairman of the World Economic Forum and principal consultant at the office of outreach and partnership for the Inter-American Development Bank. She is also a member of the Italian National Press Guild and on the advisory board of RyTV.
Two-time Emmy-winning Norville is currently anchor on US syndicated news programme Inside Edition. She was previously a CBS news anchor, has more than 30 years reporting experience and has written a number of books.
“Cristiana’s experience across global economies and her track record of launching innovative development campaigns and Deborah’s depth of knowledge based on her exceptional career in the media industry will provide important ongoing guidance and perspective,” said Viacom executive chairman Sumner Redstone.
The appointments expand Viacom’s board ranks from 11 to 13 members.
