Satellite operator Eutelsat said that it has booked more than 700 hours of capacity on five of its satellites to support media coverage from Rome surrounding the appointment of new Pope.
The firm said that the heavy coverage of the Vatican following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI and the election of Pope Francis has seen heightened demand for capacity – from firms including Arqiva, The Associated Press, GlobeCast, M-Three Satcom, SIS LIVE and Telenor seeking to transmit to studios across Europe and to North America.
