Malaysian pay TV operator has started to roll out its subscription VoD service Astro-On-The-Go (AOTG) around the world, in a bid to turn its service into a global brand.
Astro Awani, Astro’s 24-hour news channel, and selected live events on sports channel Astro Arena, are now available to Malaysians globally who have registered to the service.
The staged rollout plan, which Astro revealed last week, will see it add more linear channel content next with a VoD offering of between 1,000 and 1,500 titles to follow.
The full AOTG Worldwide service – with linear TV, music channels, live events including sports, VoD and catch up programmes – will go live in the second quarter. Astro first offered the AOTG service to its Malaysian customers in May 2012.
