Japanese telco KDDI has launched its Video Pass video-on-demand service on iOS devices for the first time, powered by European DRM and online video specialist Saffron Digital.
At the same time, KDDI has also launched the premium VoD service on Smart TV Stick, a new portable USB-sized Android OS set top box that is available to buy in KDDI retail stores.
UK-based Saffron Digital first partnered with KDDI last year with the launch of Video Pass. The service went live on Android devices in May and lets KDDI subscribers access film and TV content across multiple devices.
