The BBC’s new smartphone sports app has reached one million downloads less than two months after going live.
The milestone figure was reached as the BBC said that January was a record month for traffic to its Sport site, excluding the Olympic period last summer.
BBC Sport notched up 42 million unique users and more than one billion page views during the month, with 43.4% of this traffic coming from mobiles or tablets, the BBC said.
The BBC Sport smartphone app went live in the UK on iPhone on January 7 and on Android device on February 20.
