Tricolor passes half million HD subs, Beeline adds new channels

Russian pay TV operator Tricolor has passed the milestone of 500,000 HD subscribers.

Tricolor’s technical director Igor Kotsar said the operator planned to connect seven million HD customers by the end of 2014. In August, it launched a new budget package offering 25 HD and 100 standard definition channels for RUB900 (€22).

Separately, Tricolor has added music channel Ocean TV to its line-up.

Russian IPTV operator Beeline TV has meanwhile added 16 channels to its line-up.

Eleven of the new channels are in HD, taking the total number of HD channels available on the platform to 33. All new channels will be available in Moscow, St Petersburg and Leningrad.

Beeline, owned by Vimpelcom, now offers over 200 channels.
