Civolution and SyncNow supply companion app for cinema

Digital watermarking specialist Civolution is to supply its SyncNow product to enable a second-screen application in cinemas for film company’s 2CFilm’s release App.

Civolution and Service2Media will supply technology to enable a companion screen app that will allow cinema audiences to follow a parallel storyline via the app content. The apps will be available on Android and iOS devices.

2CFilm, Civolution and Service2Media have entered into a partnership to create multi-screen film experiences throughout the lifecycle of movies, in cinema, DVD, linear and on-demand television and online. The SyncNow feature allows the mobile app to automatically synchronise itself to the movie.

App, which is described as a thriller, will be released in the Netherlands on February 24.
