Sky News Arabia has launched a new OTT video service using technology from Envivio.
Sky News Arabia is a 24-hour, Arabic-language news channel operated as a joint-venture by Abu Dhabi Media Investment Corporation and UK pay TV operator BSkyB. It has begun offering a real-time web streaming service using the Envivio Muse video processing solution to compress and stream live video content to its website, offering OTT viewing on PCs and mobile devices.
“It is important for Sky News Arabia to be able to deliver a high-quality streaming service to all of our subscribers as well as other interested viewers from various countries,” said Ihsan Yahya, project design engineer at Sky News Arabia. “We selected Envivio because they were able to get our OTT service up and running in three weeks, and provided excellent customer service.”
