Iliad takes majority of new broadband subs

French ISP Iliad Telecom claimed 54% of the country’s total new broadband customers during the first half of the year.

The company ended June with a total of 5.15 million broadband subscribers, up from 4.71 million a year earlier. Iliad’s Free subscriber base grew from 4.25 million to 4.89 million, while Alice customer numbers decreased from 472,000 to 262,000.

Iliad’s consolidated revenues increased by 39% in the first half of 2012 to €1.44 billion. Consolidated EBITDA remained stable at €417 million.
