Hungary’s digital subscriber base on the rise

Hungary had 1.748 million digital TV subscribers as of the end of June, out of an estimated universe of 3.2 million TV subscriptions, according to figures provided by regulator the NMHH.

The country had a total of 2.849 TV subscribers at the end of the month, meaning 61.4% took digital services, up from 61.3% for the previous month.

Of the total subscriber base, 26.6% took cable and IPTV services, based on figures from the 10 largest players, up from 26.4%.

UPC remained the country’s leading pay TV operator with a market share of 26.8%, followed by Digi with 23.2% and Magyar Telekom with 22.8%.
