Premium TV boost helps KDG increase revenues

A growing premium TV subscriber base helped German cable operator Kabel Deutschland to increase first quarter revenues by 7.7% year-on-year. The operator posted revenues of €444 million for the quarter ending June 30.

KDG ended the quarter with a total of 1.8 million premium TV RGUs, up from 1.3 million a year earlier. Internet RGUs increased by 269,000 to 1.6 million and the operator added 263,000 telephony RGUs to end June with a total of 1.6 million. An increasing number of KDG’s customers now take more than one service. The operator said on average subscribers took 1.6 services compared with 1.47 a year earlier.

First quarter TV revenues amounted to €294 million, up from €284 million a year earlier. Revenues from internet and phone services increased to €150 million from €128 million.
