Dutch public broadcasting organisation NPO has acquired new encoders from Digital Rapids to expand its capacity and to stream coverage of the London Olympics.
NPO has acquired 10 more dual-channel Digital Rapids encoders to complement its existing deployment.
The Digital Rapids encoders are being used to encode live source video feeds of the three Dutch public broadcasting channels and dedicated event and thematic channels. NPO is also migrating from traditional streaming protocols to HTTP-based adaptive streaming.
