Sony’s Eddie Nelson passes away



Eddie Nelson, senior vice president, networks, EMEA, Sony Pictures Television has died following a short illness.

Nelson, who looked after the Hollywood’s studio international pay TV networks and was based in London, died last week. 
He is survived by his wife, Michelle, and two young daughters.

He joined Sony Pictures Television as general manager of networks across central Europe in 2008 and was promoted to run the channels across Europe in 2010. He previously worked in Asia for NBC and Leo Burnett. 
“Eddie was smart and charismatic, and will be greatly missed,” said Andy Kaplan, president of worldwide networks for Sony Pictures Television.  “He was a great guy and made me laugh every time I talked to him.”
