The Super RTL HD channel will be added to SES’s HD Plus platform in Germany on May 1.
The channel, aimed predominantly at children, will be RTL’s fourth to join the HD platform, which currently offers a total of 12 commercial channels along with various free-to-air networks.
Wilfried Urner, CEO of HD Plus, said: “Super RTL HD is another reason to pick HD Plus, especially for families. People who add HD Plus get the broadest satellite TV offer at a very affordable price. Viewers who are switching from analogue to digital satellite TV should make the most of the situation – since they have to make the switch to digital at the end of April, they may as well do it right. For them, the shutdown represents an opportunity to upgrade their TV – especially if they choose HD Plus.”
