Hungarian digital TV numbers continue to rise

The number of Hungarian TV subscribers taking digital services increased by 11,000 in February, according to the country’s regulator NMHH.

The total number of digital TV subscribers stood at 1.688 million at the end of the month, of which 712,000 took services from a cable or IPTV operator. The total number of analogue and digital cable and IPTV subs remained unchanged from January at 1.860 million. DTH customers numbered 921,078, down from 923,284 the previous month.

UPC was the market leading operator, with a 25.9% share, followed by Digi with 23% and Magyar Telekom with 22.7%.
