St Petersburg begins DVB-T2 broadcasts
Russia’s second city St Petersburg is launching test broadcasts using the DVB-T2 standard today.
St Petersburg will test the new standard via broadcasts on Channel 35 of its digital multiplex. Guidelines for receiving DVB-T2 signals will be published on the website of state broadast services provider RTRS.
Russia has already launched DVB-T2 services in the Republic of Tatarstan. The country plans to migrate all digital services to the new standard ahead of switchover in 2015.
