Al Arabiya launches new Egyptian news channel

Middle Eastern news broadcaster Al Arabiya is launching a new news channel in Egypt. The station is launching Al Hadath to increase its local news coverage and in particular, political coverage. The channel will feature extensive news coverage, political discussion and documentaries.

General manager of Al Arabiya TV Abdulrahman Al Rashed said that the broadcaster would offer a channel that did not shy away from controversy and would be exciting to viewers. He said that there were so many events happening in the region that one channel was not sufficient to cover all of them.
