Portugal on track for switchover

Portugal is on track to meet its targeted digital switchover date of April 26, according to the latest bulletin from regulator ANACOM.

The São Macário transmitter was shut down on February 23, completing the first phase of the swichover process, covering coastal regions. ANACOM said that 50% of the population of the interior of the country had also completed switchover by January 15. Madeira, where 95% of the population already have pay TV services or free satellite services, is due to complete switchover on March 22.
