Polish authorities fine UPC over Aster deal

The Polish competition authority UOKIK has levied a PLN775,000 (€184,000) fine on cable company UPC after concluding that it provided it with inaccurate information relating to its acquisition of smaller MSO Aster last year.

The competition body said that information suggesting the Aster deal would impact the cable market at a local level had not been made available. It is not yet clear whether UPC will exercise its right to appeal.
