Rovi names Carson as president and CEO

Digital technology company Rovi has appointed Thomas Carson as its new president and chief executive following the departure of Alfred Amoroso. Amoroso has been chief executive of the company since July 2005.

Carson, who has worked at Rovi since May 2008 and has most recently been executive vice-president, worldwide sales and marketing, will start his new role immediately and will work with Amoroso during a transition period. Carson has also been added to the company’s board of directors.
