Swisscom targets tourists with LTE pilot

Swisscom has launched a pilot LTE project offering high-speed mobile broadband services in seven areas popular with tourists.

The pilot is targeted at holiday makers who can receive seven days of mobile broadband speeds of up to 100Mbps for CHF19 (€15). A monthly offer is also available for CHF60. Users will require an LTE-enabled USB modem.

The trial is scheduled to operate until mid-2012 in Davos, Grindelwald, Gstaad, Leukerbad, Montana, Saas Fee and St. Moritz/Celerina.
