Playboy set for South African launch

South African pay TV operator On Digital Media (ODM) has struck a deal with adult content provider Playboy TV that will see it launch three channels in the new year.

The adult channels will be part of a new porn package that the pay platform will launch in January.

“We weighed the pros and cons of adding these to our bouquet. As a pay TV broadcaster, TopTV is in the business of distributing content, which includes TopTV aggregated channels as well as third party channels. In mid-2011 we were approached by Playboy TV who had three adult video channels on offer,” TopTV noted in a statement.
