Uzbekistan is launching its first HD digital-terrestrial channel, according to local reports. The channel, Uz.HD, will carry a range of factual, cultural and fiction programming.
The Uzbek digital-terrestrial platform is currently available in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Andijan, Namangan, Ferghana, Kashkadarya and Karakalpakstan, delivering 12 channels including seven Uzbek services to just under 40% of the country’s population.
