Pan-European broadcast group RTL said that higher TV advertising revenues in Germany, France and the Netherlands and growing sales at production and distribution group FremantleMedia were to thank for increased revenues and profit in the three months to end-September.
Quarterly revenue was up 6.6% at €1.2 billion. EBITA profit of €144 million was up 8.3% year-on-year.
Revenue for the nine months to end-September was €4 billion, a 4.4% year-on-year increase and profit in the period was €701 million, a 4.6% uptick year-on-year.
RTL said that the performance of FremantleMedia was being driven by its established formats X Factor, Got Talent and The Farmer Wants A Wife continuing to generate strong ratings in the US, UK, Germany, Australia and France.
