Lovefilm cuts StudioCanal deal

UK and German streaming and rental service Lovefilm has inked a content deal with StudioCanal, the feature film division of French premium TV provider Canal Plus.

StudioCanal has the third largest film library in the world and the exclusive deal with Lovefilm allows its customers to access its titles via its streaming or postal service.

New titles include Source Code and current hit Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy will also soon be available.

“Distributors are increasingly choosing to make Lovefilm the number one destination and home to showcase their digital content,” said Simon Calver, CEO of Lovefilm. “I am delighted to say that Lovefilm will be the only place that film fans can exclusively stream new StudioCanal movies.”
