KidsCo has extended its deal with Beijing-based pay TV StarTimes that will see the children’s channel available in French across Africa from September 1.
KidsCo will broadcast original programming such as Boo & Me and first-run exclusives including Turbo Dogs and Beach Crew. It will also air its Video Game Heroes breakfast block featuring Sonic: Underground, Super Mario World and Dino Squad, as well as classic shows such as Sabrina: The Animated Series and Mary Kate and Ashley.
Paul Robinson, global CEO at KidsCo, said: “Africa is an important emerging market for KidsCo and it is important for us to appeal to viewers on a local as well as universal level. KidsCo’s multi-lingual service is an important aspect of our offering to platforms, so we are delighted to be joining forces with StarTimes to bring French-speaking viewers across Africa our fantastic slate of educational and entertaining content”.
