WISI makes strategic acquisition

Germany-based cable technology company WISI has acquired 2wCom, a supplier of DVB-S/S2, DVB-T, FM, RDS-TMC and TCP/IP SNMP management control systems.

WISI said that move would expand its portfolio in the professional broadcast market and for associated service providers worldwide. 2wCom was founded in 1996 by the company owner and managing director Werner Drews. The company is a leading supplier for DVB-S/S2 audio and IP satellite system solutions including professional encoders, modulators and digital satellite receivers (IRDs).
