Kudelski-owned conditional access module supplier SmarDTV has started shipping its latest SmarCAM-3 CI Plus modules to the Austrian market, giving secure access to public broadcaster ORF and pay TV services, as well as other services in the region based on Irdeto conditional acess.
The launch of the CAM in Austria will allow TV viewers to access services on set-tops and integrated digital TVs using CI Plus modules supplied by SmarDTV. There are about 2.6 million active Irdeto smartcards in Austria, where the ORF satellite platform operated by platform services provider ORS is the largest satellite platform in the country.
