Pay TV provider Wananchi Group is trying to get Kenyas regulatory authorities to force rival MultiChoice Africa to resell exclusive premium content to it, including English Premier League football rights.Â
However, Wananchi, operator of the recently launched Zuku TV platform, has reportedly suffered a setback after being told by communications regulator the CCK that the case was outside its jurisdiction. The CCK director-general reportedly told Wananchi to strike a deal with MultiChoice, owner of the DStv service, or to convince the rights-holders to open up the market. DStv holds the rights to the English Premier League until 2013. Â
