AEPOC claims anti-piracy success with Cypriot arrests

Police in Cyprus have made six arrests in relation to piracy of content from pay TV services BSkyB, Nova and British Forces Broadcasting Service.

The latest arrests, accompanies by the seizure of six servers distributing content illegally from the services, follow the arrest of a Cypriot man in June for providing illicit pay TV subscriptions to some 1,400 customers in Europe. The two cases are believed to be connected and to involve card-sharing networks distributing codes to illegally access content.

Anti-piracy organisation AEPOC has collaborated with the Cypriot police, contributing the seizure of a total of 11 card-sharing servers over the past three weeks.
