Frances competition regulator is likely to make a decision on its procedure against pay TV group Canal Plus for failing to respect undertakings related to its merger with TPS by mid-September, according to local reports.
The competition authority has accused the pay TV company of failing to live up to its commitment to make seven channels available to internet service providers as part of their own TV offerings. The regulator has alleged that Canal Plus delayed making the channels, including premium channel TPS Star and Sport Plus, available to the ISPs until beyond the required date. It also accused Canal Plus of setting too high a price for TPS Star and of lowering the quality of programming on the channel.
