Spacecom pre-sells US$12.5 million Amos-5 capacity



Spacecom has pre sold capacity on its Amos-5 satellite to an existing customer to the value of US$12.5 million (€8.7 million).


While the operator wouldn’t reveal the name of the company, it said it was an internet technology provider based in South Africa. The customer has taken Ku- and C-band capacity and will use it for a variety of VSATservices.


Amos-5 us scheduled to be launched to the 17° East orbital position where it will begin commercial operations later this year.
