Sports channel Eurosport has claimed record audiences for its coverage of the 2011 French Open tennis championship from Roland Garros.
Eurosports coverage of the tournament achieved a reach of 56 million viewers over the two-week period for its two channels. It also recorded its best-ever live average audience of just 1.06 million during the whole tournament, an increase of 18% on the previous year. The final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer was watched by 2.65 million viewers, up 40% on 2010.
