Eurosport claims record audience for tennis coverage

Sports channel Eurosport has claimed record audiences for its coverage of the 2011 French Open tennis championship from Roland Garros.

Eurosport’s coverage of the tournament achieved a reach of 56 million viewers over the two-week period for its two channels. It also recorded its best-ever live average audience of just 1.06 million during the whole tournament, an increase of 18% on the previous year. The final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer was watched by 2.65 million viewers, up 40% on 2010.
