BBC launches Share Tools for iPlayer

The BBC has launched new content sharing features to the BBC iPlayer catch-up service. The launch of Share Tools will allow customers to look for a ‘share’ icon underneath the player window on the service that allows them to share the page with friends via Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.

The Share Tools feature replaces the earlier ‘recommend’ option on playback pages, which the BBC says will make it easier for users to share what they are watching across social networks.

The move follows the recent launch of a series-record feature on the catch-up platform.
