French ISP Bouygues Telecom is to introduce a new Wi-Fi-enabled version of its Bbox gateway set-top in partnership with Celeno.
The box will incorporate Celenos 802.11n-based OptimizAir technology, allowing up to three HD streams to be distributed to different screens around the home. The box will use the 5GHz frequency to deliver streams around the home using CelenoÂs Âbeamforming technology, allowing the wireless signal to be optimized in any given direction, providing the greater stability required for video transmission, according to Bouygues.
Celeno has become a strategic partner of Bouygues Telecom Initiatives, a start-up incubator created by the telco to support work on next-generation wireless technologies.
