Cyfrowy Polsat increases subs base

Polish cable operator Cyfrowy Polsat added subscribers across the board during the third quarter of 2011.

The operator ended March with 3,469,696 DTH customers, an increase of 7% year-on-year. Of that figure, 2,725,525 subscribed to the Family Package of channels, with the remaining 744,171 taking a Mini Package. The subscriber churn rate remained stable at 9.6% while ARPU increased slightly to PLN36.80 (€9).

Cyfrowy Polsat also increased its broadband subscriber numbers to 35,530 and its mobile telephony customer base to 119,921.

The operator posted first quarter revenues of PLN411 million, up 9% year-on-year and EBITDA up 1% to PLN124 million. Net profit was down 11% to PLN76 million, a better-than-expected figure.
