Alenquer, near Lisbon, has become the first Portuguese municipality to complete terrestrial digital switchover.
According to Portuguese media regulator ANACOM, about 80% of the municipalitys population already subscribe to pay TV and did not need to acquire new equipment to continue to receive services.
By the completion of switchover (scheduled for April next year) 87% of the country will have access to DTT.
