Finlands DNA has chosen TeamCast to provide technology to support the rollout of the latterÂs DVB-T2 digital-terrestrial network, the first commercial single frequency network (SFN) to employ the new modulation standard.
DNA is providing three HD multiplexes using DVB-T2 modulation and MPEG-4 compression, with a target of covering over 80% of the countryÂs terrestrial TV households by the end of this year.
TeamCastÂs DVB-T2 modulators support multiple input-single output transmission and multi-service layered modulation allowing the processing of eight parallel physical layer pipe inputs, according to the company.
