DNA chooses TeamCast for SFN DVB-T2 network

Finland’s DNA has chosen TeamCast to provide technology to support the rollout of the latter’s DVB-T2 digital-terrestrial network, the first commercial single frequency network (SFN) to employ the new modulation standard.

DNA is providing three HD multiplexes using DVB-T2 modulation and MPEG-4 compression, with a target of covering over 80% of the country’s terrestrial TV households by the end of this year.

TeamCast’s DVB-T2 modulators support multiple input-single output transmission and multi-service layered modulation allowing the processing of eight parallel physical layer pipe inputs, according to the company.
