Over half of Dutch households have digital TV

Over 55% of Dutch cable households had a digital service in September 2010, according to the latest survey by communications regulator OPTA.

The proportion of viewers watching TV via alternative digital platforms including IPTV, satellite and terrestrial networks grew from 24% in mid-2009 to 28% in September 2010. Overall, 65% of consumers had digital TV, with a third taking only an analogue service. About five million households took a bundled package, with about 2.2 million taking a triple-play package.
