Live streaming on the BBC’s iPlayer service for both TV and radio was at the highest level seen to date in March, with 15% of all requests for TV programmes being streamed.

In its monthly report, the BBC said the number of iPlayer requests in March failed to reach the record set in January, reaching a total of 160 million, compared with 162 million in January. The figure was up on the 148 million requests in February, which is a shorter month.

Tablets now account for 2% of all requests, up from 1% in December, January and February.
