Bundesliga sees record earnings from overseas deals

The German Football League (DFL) has achieved record earnings from overseas coverage of the top Bundesliga league this season.

With the current season set to end next month, the DFL’s marketing subsidiary DFL Sports Enterprises said it was able to distribute €40 million, or 15% more than expected to the Bundesliga’s teams.

“From the 2012/13 season, we expect a further, significant double-digit growth, ” said DFL managing director Christian Seifert.

The Bundesliga broadcasts up to five matches live each week to 198 countries.
